Job Title: Electrical Technician

Position Overview:
Nomadik Customs is looking to hire a talented and motivated electrical technician to work on off-grid, custom adventure vans. This position is responsible for the wiring and installation of all electrical components for van conversions, including interior/exterior lighting, wiring harnesses, batteries, alternators, solar panels, and charge controllers. Additionally, the electrical technician should excel at diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical problems. We are looking for a candidate that can hit the ground running and who only requires minimal training. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of 12V and 24V systems as well as solar installation. This role is crucial to ensuring our clients have reliable, efficient, and sustainable power systems in their custom vans. Candidates with van build experience are preferred, RV, marine, or aircraft electrics are also highly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Assemble and install state-of-the-art battery systems and components
Install audio systems, remote starts, aftermarket lights, WiFi systems, and other third-party components
Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components
Prewire van chassis
Build wiring harnesses
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment
Follow safety guidelines, general procedures, and policies
Test systems and ensure quality control
Read and understand production documentation: drawings, installation instructions, etc.
Safely operate hand tools and power tools
Expectations:
Work Monday - Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm at our shop in Portland, OR
Punctual and self-motivated
Ability to learn quickly and with enthusiasm
Ability to work as a team or as an individual
Warranty and re-work is minimized or eliminated as the work is done right the first time
Work is completed on time and at a very high quality standard
Have a fun, kind, and positive attitude
Keep shop clean and tools organized
Qualifications/Required Skills:
A minimum of 2 years experience working in the van, RV, automotive, aviation, or marine industry strongly preferred
Understanding of electric theory and conversions
Experience with 12V, and 24V electrical systems
Competent with AC and DC systems
Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues
Experience installing after-market lights and switches
Experience installing converters
Outstanding motivation and drive to complete projects on time
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
Experience safely operating hand tools and power tools
Ability to lift heavy items in excess of 50 pounds
Valid driver license and good driving record
High-School Diploma or GED
